Through research I discovered that one third of the American adult population is lonely. I personally connect with this because I have witnessed my family members struggle to make new friends as they got older. I created the Para Meet app for adults ages 50-65 to find new friends with similar interests as them. Considering I am not in the demographic, this forced me to work harder in understanding the core needs of this age group.
I researched how baby boomers interact with technology and found that simple and straight-forward designs are successful. I used bigger button sizes, larger type, and basic concepts for usability so the user would not be overwhelmed.
